FAQs

What happens during my electrolysis appointment?

From the moment you walk in, you and your skin will be treated to the utmost care. Every electrolysis treatment begins with a cleansing of the skin using our hand-blended, organic antiseptic as we go over the areas of electrolysis treatment. Then, sit back and relax as we annihilate hair follicles. After the electrolysis treatment, we will apply a soothing and hydrating agent (depending on area/s treated) and follow it up with a complimentary high-frequency treatment as we go over your specific aftercare. Don’t worry, aftercare for permanent hair removal is pretty basic. The last luxury of your electrolysis appointment will be a generous spritz of a calming/soothing/hydrating/and barrier boosting face mist to restore your skin after hair removal treatment.

Does electrolysis hurt?

Yes! Electrolysis does not feel great but really, it’s not that bad. Clients often comment that electrolysis is much less painful than laser treatments. We use the most accelerated permanent hair removal machine on the market, Apilus XCell, for the most comfortable electrolysis treatments available. This is not your grandma’s electrolysis. The efficiency, speed and comfort of the XCell is the ultimate in luxury electrolysis treatments…and like I always say, the hatred for the hair is always greater than the pain!

Can I only do one area per appointment?

No! We can remove hair in as many areas as you’d like within our alotted time. Upper lip and eyebrows? Sure. Happy trail, under arms, and a random neck hair? Bring it. Electrolysis treatments are booked by time, so whatever we can fit into our appointment is fair game.

Should I do laser or electrolysis?

Bottom line: Electrolysis is permanent, laser is not. However, there are many factors in answering this question for each individual so please email/text us for a personalized response based on your goals and needs. Electrolysis is the ONLY method of permanent hair removal. It is ideal for all areas of the body and is guaranteed to work on all skin tones and hair colors. Laser is useful for very large/very dense areas of hair (i.e. full legs, underarms, bikini, etc..) to get a semi-permanent reduction of hair in 6-9 sessions. Laser will never get everything and will eventually (hopefully slowly) grow back. One should never do laser on areas with peach fuzz and there are limitations on what types of hair and skin that laser will work on. Electrolysis can target and destroy follicles on all hair and skin types.

Will my hair grow back after electrolysis?

No. Electrolysis destroys the hair follicle, cutting off the blood supply (lifeline) for hair. After completing your electrolysis journey (generally between 12-24 months) your hair is permanently gone. Throw the tweezers away, bid adieu to your waxer, and don’t be afraid to look in the mirror of your car anymore (IYKYK). Electrolysis kills hairs dead. Forever.
